About the Association
Master Builders and Allied Trades Association (Free State), known as MBA FS, is an employers' organisation registered under Section 107 of the Labour Relations Act, Act 66 of 1995. We represent contractors and employers in the building industry across the Free State. Our role is to speak on behalf of members, support fair practice and help members maintain a high standard of work.
Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is elected by members to govern the association. The committee meets regularly to review policy, address member concerns and guide the strategic direction of MBA FS. Committee members are drawn from active building firms, which keeps the leadership close to the daily realities of the industry.
Code of Ethics
All members of MBA FS are bound by a strict Code of Ethics that promotes fair dealing, professionalism and integrity in the building industry. Members are expected to uphold high standards of business conduct, honour their contractual obligations and treat employees, clients and subcontractors with respect. Breaches of the code can lead to disciplinary action.
MBA Branches
MBA FS operates as part of the Master Builders South Africa (MBSA) federation, which has branches across all major provinces. Our regional presence ensures that Free State contractors have access to local expertise, resources and a voice within the national federation. Members benefit from both local support and national representation.
Membership Structure
Membership is open to contractors and employers in the building industry. Members pay an annual subscription, which funds the services, representation and support offered by the association. Different membership categories apply depending on the size and nature of the business. Contact our office to confirm the category that fits your firm.
Our Role in the Industry
MBA FS speaks on behalf of members in engagements with government, bargaining councils and industry bodies. We help shape the rules that affect building employers, provide guidance on compliance and give members a collective voice. Through MBSA, our members are also represented at national level on matters that shape the construction sector.
